Prohibited Items Policy

Draft. This policy is under legal review and may change.

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE_DATE] Version 1.0

In short: Some products cannot be sold on CSI at all, and some can be sold only if strict conditions are met. The list follows PayPal's rules, because all payments go through PayPal, and adds rules for home-improvement products such as refrigerants, pesticides and chemicals. Sellers must also follow the law of every country they ship to. If something is not on the list but is unlawful or unsafe, it is still not allowed. This summary is not part of the binding terms below.

1. Scope

1.1. This Policy applies to every product listed in the CSI Store by CSI or by a Seller, and to anything offered in a Job, Bid, comment or message. It is part of the Terms of Service and the Seller Terms.

1.2. Sellers must also comply with PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy, which may be stricter than this list, and with the law of the place they ship from and every place they ship to.

1.3. CSI may remove any listing, at its discretion, even if it is not covered by this list.

2. Prohibited items

The following may not be listed or sold:

(a) Tobacco and nicotine: cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, vapes, e-cigarettes, e-liquids, heated tobacco, nicotine pouches and related accessories. (b) Drugs: illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, cannabis and cannabis products (including CBD and hemp-derived products), prescription medicines, and products making medical claims. (c) Alcohol. (d) Weapons: firearms, firearm parts and accessories, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, stun guns, tasers, pepper spray, switchblades and other weapons restricted by law, and instructions for making weapons. (e) Counterfeit and infringing goods: fakes, replicas, unauthorised copies, and items that infringe any copyright, trademark, design or patent. (f) Stolen goods and items obtained unlawfully. (g) Recalled products and products banned or restricted by a product safety authority. (h) Hazardous materials that cannot be lawfully shipped as offered, including flammable, corrosive, toxic, oxidising, compressed or explosive goods, and lithium batteries shipped without proper classification, packaging and labelling. (i) Refrigerants and ozone-depleting substances sold to buyers who are not certified technicians where the law requires certification. (j) Restricted-use pesticides and other chemicals that may be sold only to licensed or certified applicators, and any pesticide not registered for sale where it is shipped. (k) Banned chemicals and materials, including products containing asbestos, and paint or coatings that do not meet lead limits or chemical restrictions in the destination market. (l) Products without required safety approvals, markings or registrations for the destination market (for example, electrical products sold into the European Union without the required CE marking or responsible person). (m) Used items where the law does not allow resale (for example, certain used mattresses without sanitisation labels where required) and second-hand safety equipment such as used helmets and harnesses. (n) Government documents and identity items: IDs, licences, permits, badges and uniforms, or items that impersonate officials. (o) Surveillance and hacking tools designed to intercept communications or gain unauthorised access, and devices that are illegal to sell or use where shipped. (p) Adult and sexual content and products. (q) Gambling, lotteries and raffles. (r) Financial products, gift cards of other businesses, cryptocurrencies and stored value. (s) Live animals, animal parts and products from protected species. (t) Human remains and body parts. (u) Items that promote hate, violence or discrimination. (v) Services that are not products (Sellers may not use the shop to sell services; services are offered through Jobs and Bookings). (w) Anything illegal to sell, ship, buy or possess in the place where the Seller or the Buyer is located.

3. Restricted items (allowed only with conditions)

The following may be listed only if the Seller complies with all applicable laws and the conditions below, and CSI approves the listing:

(a) Chemicals, solvents, sealants, adhesives, coatings and cleaning concentrates: must include safety data and warnings required by law, be correctly labelled, and be shipped under dangerous goods rules where they apply. (b) Aerosols and pressurised containers: only by ground shipping where required, with correct hazard labels. (c) Batteries and battery-powered tools: must be shipped under the carrier's battery rules. (d) Power tools and electrical items: must carry the safety certifications or marks required where shipped. (e) Knives and blades used as tools (such as utility knives and scrapers): only where lawful and not sold to minors. (f) Products with age limits (for example, certain chemicals or blades): Sellers are responsible for any age check the law requires.

4. Reporting

Report a listing with the "Report seller" option or by emailing info@csieliteservices.com.

5. Consequences

CSI may remove listings, pause or close shops, and close accounts that break this Policy, and may report unlawful activity to authorities and to PayPal.
